“Yoga and I are in a very committed relationship. Yoga tests me, challenges me, grows with me, changes with me and has changed me. It brings out my best self. I teach because I know how powerful this practice is, how it has changed my life for the better. I want to offer that to others. To help guide my students in finding a deeper sense of peace and clarity within their physical body and mind that will hopefully translate into all aspects of their lives.” – Dani Z

Dani is a New York based teacher and Teacher Trainer for YogaWorks. She has been exploring the relationship of body, breath and mind for almost her entire life, which began first as a dancer. Before studying yoga, Dani earned her BFA at The Dance Conservatory of Purchase College, SUNY, and went on to dance professionally in NYC in the Amy Marshall Dance Company. Through the work of Educational Outreach Lecture Demonstrations with the dance company, Dani’s excitement and curiosity for teaching movement and the connection of mind, body, breath was ignited.

Dani holds an E-RYT500 certification through YogaWorks as well as an Advanced Teacher Training certification in Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Injury Awareness/Prevention, Biomechanics/Kinesiology under the teachings of Jason Ray Brown. Dani’s approach to teaching yoga asana is through the lens of understanding anatomy and biomechanics along with an openness and playfulness. This allows her students to feel safe and have permission to explore postures in new ways that work best for their own fabulously unique anatomy. Dani is also certified in Thai Massage as well as YogaTuneUp® which is a fitness therapy format founded by Jill Miller that uses Corrective Exercise, Self Massage and Yoga to eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance physical performance. Dani continues to study the relationship with body, breath and mind because it is her passion and mission to help people live better in their bodies.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of the which have potential to turn the life around.” -- Leo Buscagilia.

Iryna has been practicing yoga for over 8 years. As a teacher and a yoga practitioner
she loves the physical aspect of yoga the most because, as she says, “shapes and
forms of asana create so much space inside.” Along her yoga path Iryna has studied with different prominent teachers and practiced varies styles of yoga. Her especially deep gratitude runs towards Nikki Vilella, David
Hollander and Nikki Costello. Her biggest passions are Ashtanga and Vinyasa.
Beginners and experienced yogis speak of Iryna’s classes as creative and intelligent. She uses many props in order to get deeper into the pose and get a better alignment which is especially appreciated by beginners. Iryna’s unique sequences are filled with pranayama (breath work), hands on assist, and a space for self-study. Come and experience the true art of yoga with Iryna.

Ellen comes to LIM as an energetic 3-year certified Zumba instructor, highly inspired by LIM’s mentor, Yxia Olivares. Ellen has taught all levels of jazz dance and ballet at Broadway Dance Center in NYC,
International Dance School in Carnegie Hall, and several other dance studios throughout the New York area. She has performed professionally throughout the US, in Europe and on television as a featured dancer and choreographer.

Ellen brings to LIM the concept of sharing the pure joy of movement in her Zumba classes; dance, great music and fitness for de-stressing the mind and physical body, freeing up the muscles and joints while building strength, cardio stamina and agility, proper body alignment, the extremely important brain-body coordination we build through dancing, and true enjoyment of our workouts. That makes us crave more! Ellen’s mantra: “Dancing is basically continually changing your body weight from your right foot to your left foot – with style! All moves can be modified for one’s individual needs, and everyone can enjoy dancing!”

As a New York State licensed medical massage therapist with a bustling private practice for many years, Ellen continues to work closely with all types of athletes, classical musicians, assists at births, and with terminally ill patients. Her experience as a body worker has given her a vast, appreciative knowledge of what our amazing bodies are capable of achieving, another concept that trickles down into her dance-fitness classes.

“We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.” - Japanese Proverb

Many Zumba instructors have backgrounds as actors, dancers or athletes. Emi has been all three. That’s why she fell in love with Zumba because it’s a perfect way to entertain people, dance with them, and work out with them at the same time! She is very passionate about dancing and living life to the fullest, and she looks forward to sharing her passion with you!

Her Zumba class is designed to make you have so much fun that you might not even notice that you’re actually working out. Let yourself enjoy the music, keep dancing with fun choreography, then before you know it, you’ll be drenched in sweat! It’s highly recommended that you bring water with you, as hydration helps you get a better and safer workout.

“Thoughts Become Things”

Yxia Olivares is a native New Yorker who has always nurtured her passion for the arts, for movement, and longevity. This explains how after finishing her Associates Degree in Fashion Design at F.I.T., she immediately immersed herself in the commercial dance industry and went on to enjoy over 23 years of performing in music videos, world tours, stage and tv performances with artists such as Britney Spears, Sean Paul, Wyclef Jean, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Salt N’Pepa, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige and many more.
When she was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Sahara, it was the perfect opportunity to not only settled down at home in NYC, but to finally embark on a fitness career she knew would allow her to grow and share her love for movement and health with the masses.
What she loves most about teaching dance fitness? Encouraging people to keep moving, to be fearless, to have fun and make dance and exercise a lifelong lifestyle choice. Her goal? To help you release stress and tension and help lift your spirits with joy and a sense of release and freedom while keeping your brain sharp with her fun choreography moves.
